A gut feeling that paid off
Inka Rössler, MA, HR Coordinator, EuroParcs Österreich, Graduated in 2021
I chose the IBM master’s program based on a gut feeling—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made for my personal and professional development.
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in International Tourism Management in Germany, Inka Rössler wanted to deepen her general business knowledge in an intercultural and practice-oriented environment. She was looking for an English-taught program that would combine international perspectives with a strong practical focus while remaining affordable. CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Villach ultimately attracted her not only because of the program itself, but also because of its location, surrounded by mountains and lakes.
The international environment quickly became one of the highlights of her studies. Working in boutique-sized classes with students from a wide range of countries provided Inka with different perspectives and valuable intercultural experiences. At the same time, the practice-oriented curriculum connected business theory with real-world challenges. Experienced lecturers from international business, guest speakers, company projects, and company visits gave her the opportunity to apply what she learned beyond the classroom.
Inka particularly valued the broad range of skills and knowledge covered by the IBM program. During her studies, she specialized in HR management, while the program also prepared her for roles in international business and other fields. The open and respectful feedback culture encouraged students to actively participate, share their perspectives, and contribute to their own learning experience.
After graduating in 2021, Inka initially worked as an Export Assistant at Austroflex Rohr-Isoliersysteme GmbH, where she was responsible for market research, international customer support, and export marketing. She subsequently moved into HR and today works as an HR Coordinator at EuroParcs Österreich, putting her IBM specialization into practice in a completely different industry.
For Inka, the IBM master’s program ultimately proved that a decision made on gut feeling can lead to a rewarding professional journey—and to a place that feels like home.
