From international business to a career across borders
Dmitry Kuybida, MA, HR Coordinator, Pewag Group, Graduated in 2023
The IBM master’s program gave me broad, internationally oriented business knowledge that I can apply across different industries and professional fields.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in International Tourism Management in Germany, Dmitry Kuybida was looking to deepen his general business knowledge in an international environment. The Master’s program in International Business Management at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences stood out for its combination of intercultural exchange, practical learning, English-language teaching, and an affordable study experience.
The internationally diverse and close-knit classes were particularly valuable to Dmitry. Working with students from different countries, engaging in interactive group projects, and tackling real-life company challenges broadened his perspective and strengthened his ability to work across cultures. Company visits in different countries and guest lectures by business experts further connected the academic curriculum with the realities of international business.
The practical orientation of the program was also reflected in the teaching approach. Many lecturers bring professional experience from international business into the classroom, providing students with practical examples and insights. The small class sizes encouraged open discussion and personal interaction, while CU Hochschule Kärnten’s respectful feedback culture gave students the opportunity to actively contribute to their own learning experience.
After graduating in 2023, Dmitry initially worked as an Export Assistant for a manufacturing company, focusing on market research, international customer support, and export marketing. He is now taking the next step in his career as an HR Coordinator for a European holiday park provider, building on the HR specialization he chose during his studies. For Dmitry, this career transition is a testament to the broad applicability of the knowledge gained through the IBM program—whether supporting companies in their internationalization efforts or contributing to HR management in a completely different industry.
