Controlling & Finance
The Finance and Controlling Department serves as the point of contact for all business-related matters at CU Carinthia University. The responsibilities of the Controlling department include providing the basis for business decisions at CU Carinthia University and supporting the organization in its strategic adaptation to the higher education sector. Controlling prepares the financial planning documents for new Degree programs, courses and research projects and handles the financial planning for infrastructure investments.
The staff of the Controlling Department design the budgeting processes for the business areas of teaching, research and continuing education. Cost accounting provides the basis for managing the academic departments and allocating funds to the service and administrative areas.
Project Controlling supports the research, continuing education and infrastructure activities of CU Carinthia University. Using business analytics, key performance indicators for day-to-day operations, as well as analyses and reports for organizational development, are generated from the university’s operational data processing and statistics. The Finance Department’s responsibilities include ensuring the liquidity of CU Carinthia University, communicating with funding agencies at the federal, Carinthia state, and city levels where CU Carinthia University is located, and securing funding from project partners and grant providers.
