The Double Degree & Joint Programs at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences offer students the opportunity to gain international experience while earning two academic degrees. In cooperation with renowned partner universities in Europe, the programs combine practice-oriented learning with intercultural exchange, thereby expanding both professional and personal skills. Particularly in fields such as International Business Management, Social Work, Health Management, Active Aging and Age-Friendly Society (EMMA), and Digital Construction Management, the Double Degree & Joint Programs options open up exciting prospects for an international career and a strong professional network. In addition to studying at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, students spend part of their education abroad, thereby benefiting from different teaching and work cultures.

Double Degree Programs in
Health Management and Social Work
In cooperation with the Finnish University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä (JAMK), the master’s programs in Health Management and Social Work: Development and Design offer an international dual-degree program (DDP).
The DDP is an initiative of the degree programs aimed at strengthening the European dimension of the curriculum and thereby opening up international career opportunities for students. In addition, it enables students to establish international contacts and gain a broader perspective on the healthcare sector.
The program comprises 30 ECTS credits. These credits are integrated into the curricula of the master’s programs and include two international study weeks (Summer School in Jyväskylä and Spring School at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences), a specific selection of online courses, the master’s thesis, and, optionally, one to two weeks of practical training. All components of the program are conducted in English.

PREREQUISITES
- Bachelor's degree
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the healthcare and/or social services sector following completion of a bachelor’s degree or basic training

1st Semester
- Application period: Beginning of the semester (following an information session)
- Admission decision and procedure (CUAS & JAMK): By early December
- Online kick-off meeting and introduction to DDP students and the DDP team
2nd Semester
- Info session: Summer School
- Summer School at JAMK, in Jyväskylä, Finland (5 ECTS)
- Finalization of the master’s thesis proposal (exposé)
- Assignment of a master’s thesis advisor at JAMK
- Students nominate a second advisor at CUAS (self-organized)
3rd Semester
- Online course: Ethical Expertise, Leadership & Organizational Culture (JAMK)
- Master’s Thesis
4th Semester

Double Degree Program in
International Business Management

- To be eligible for the Carinthia-Udine dual degree program, you must be enrolled in the “International Business Management” master’s program at CU University of Applied Sciences Carinthia or in the “International Marketing, Management, and Organization” master’s program at UNIUD
- You must meet the general admission requirements for both master’s programs
- Complete the application form for the dual degree program and attach the required documents (see application form)
- Required English proficiency level: B2
- Successful Application for the Dual Degree Program
- Completion of all components of the four-semester dual degree program, including a semester abroad at the partner university (in the 3rd semester)
- A master’s thesis that has received a positive evaluation (by the primary advisor at the home university and the secondary reviewer at the host university)
- A successfully completed master’s examination at CU University of Carinthia

- To be eligible for the Carinthia-Cologne dual degree program, you must be enrolled in the “International Business Management” master’s program at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences or in the “International Business” master’s program at TH Köln
- You must meet the general admission requirements for both master’s programs
- Complete the application form for the dual degree program and attach the required documents (see application form)
- The required English proficiency level is B2
- GMAT scores of >500 points or equivalent GRE scores must be submitted
- Successful Application for the Dual Degree Program
- Completion of all components of the four-semester dual degree program, including a semester abroad at the partner university (2nd semester in Cologne for CU students, 3rd semester in Carinthia for students from TH Köln).

Students who successfully complete the dual-degree program receive, after four semesters, a combined Austrian master’s degree from CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and a German master’s degree from TH Köln/Cologne University of Applied Sciences or the Italian Laurea Magistrale degree from Università degli studi di Udine/University of Udine (one degree can be officially transferred). Multiple Degree Program
Active Ageing and Age-Friendly Society (EMMA*)
The Joint Master's Degree Program in Active Aging and Age-Friendly Society (EMMA) focuses on the societal impacts of demographic change. This interdisciplinary and international program equips you to develop and implement innovative concepts for active aging and to play an active role in shaping an age-friendly society. The English-language program comprises 120 ECTS credits.
You will study at five partner universities in Europe:
- CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Austria, coordinator of the joint EMMA program
- The University of Lisbon (UniLisbon), Portugal
- National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece
- University College Cork (UCC), Ireland

Joint Degree Program
in Digital Construction Management

The digital transformation in the construction industry requires professionals who not only possess technical expertise but are also capable of efficiently managing complex projects. The part-time master’s program in Digital Construction Management teaches precisely these skills and prepares students to actively shape the construction industry. The program comprises 90 ECTS credits and three semesters.
The program focuses on the use of digital tools and processes to optimize the construction process, the application of AI-supported methods, and the management of construction projects in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. The three-semester master’s program was developed in collaboration between Bochum UniversityofAppliedSciences and CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and is structured around online components and on-campus intensive weeks, which take place in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia (DE), and Spittal an der Drau, Carinthia (AT).
