I don't have a Matura. Can I still go to college?

Yes. You can earn your college entrance qualification at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. There are two preparatory programs. You can find more information on the “Studying Without a Matura” page. 

How are the degree programs structured in terms of time?

  • Full-time: Classes are primarily held on weekdays during the day; ideal if you want to devote most of your time to your studies.
  • Part-time/work-friendly: Schedules are optimized for working professionals—e.g., block sessions, evenings, weekends, and hybrid/online components.
  • Dual study program: You study and work simultaneously at a partner company. Currently available at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences only in the Hotel Management track. The program follows a clear 12-week model with alternating theory and practical phases starting in the first semester. 

Can I work while I'm in school?

Yes. There are three ways to combine your studies with a job:

Study & Work Full-Time:

  • Employment: part-time up to approx. 8 hours per week
  • Schedule: In some degree programs, there are no classes on Mondays

Study & Work (part-time):

  • Employment: Part-time up to a maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Schedule: work-friendly times (evenings, weekends, block scheduling, online)

Note: Even as a full-time student, it is possible to have a part-time job, but it should be coordinated with class and study times.
