From a Master’s program straight into M&A management
Laura Blasi, MA, M&A Manager, Kelag International GmbH, Graduated in 2024
The combination of international exchange, hands-on projects, and personal development prepared me perfectly for my professional responsibilities.
The Master’s program in International Business Management at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences provided Laura Blasi with a strong foundation for her current role in an international business environment. Its comprehensive curriculum combines strategic management and data analytics with emerging areas such as sustainability and ESG, giving students both a broad understanding of international business and practical skills for today’s working world.
The hands-on consulting and innovation projects were particularly formative for Laura. Through the International Consulting Lab and the International Entrepreneurship and Innovation Lab, she was able to tackle real-world business challenges and apply her knowledge directly. Industry experts and guest speakers further connected the academic curriculum with current business practices and provided valuable insights into the realities of international management.
The international diversity of the student community was equally important. Working with classmates from different countries exposed Laura to a wide range of perspectives and strengthened her intercultural communication and negotiation skills. At the same time, courses focusing on critical thinking, coaching, and personal and leadership development supported her growth beyond purely academic knowledge.
Today, Laura works as an M&A Manager at Kelag International GmbH. She manages mergers and acquisitions, evaluates potential acquisition targets, negotiates deal terms, coordinates post-merger integration, and works closely with senior management on strategic growth initiatives. The professional and personal skills developed during the IBM program continue to support her in navigating these responsibilities with confidence and resilience.
