Research at the Faculty of
Built Environment

Research at the Faculty of Built Environment at CU Carinthia University focuses on the areas of materials, design, and construction. These areas constitute the faculty’s core research competencies and address key issues in civil engineering and architecture.

These research priorities are addressed through project work, thesis projects, and research collaborations with companies and technical universities. In this way, the faculty concentrates its research activities in clearly defined subject areas related to materials, buildings, design, and construction.

Our core research areas of expertise are in the following fields:

  • Building materials technology with an affiliated construction laboratory
  • Building physics, with a focus on building envelopes and energy efficiency
  • Sustainability in Design
  • Structural Engineering
