Research at the Faculty of
Business & Management

The ISMA (Interdisciplinary Studies in Management) Research Center coordinates the research activities of the Faculty of Business & Management. The defining characteristic of research at the faculty is its interdisciplinary nature: experts in business administration, economics, law, political science, public administration, cultural studies, and computer science work closely together at the faculty.

Guided by a commitment to applied research, the ISMA Research Center conducts its own research, contract research, and third-party funded research in close cooperation with partners from industry, the public sector, and academia. The satisfaction of our cooperation partners, as well as a high research ratio–even when compared to other universities of applied sciences–are the results of our distinguished research. Application-oriented research and constant feedback from the professional world ensure that our teaching remains up-to-date, addresses new developments, and encourages critical reflection, allowing students to benefit directly from our research.

Six research priorities of the ISMA Research Center:

  1. Modernization of the Public Sector
  2. Sustainable Development and Qualitative Growth
  3. Business Development and International Business Activities
  4. Digitalization and New Technologies
  5. Regional Economy and Tourism
  6. Demographic and Social Change
