What should you bring to the program?

The master’s program is designed for graduates of a relevant bachelor’s program who wish to develop sustainable real estate projects and actively shape the future of the real estate industry. Ideal candidates have an interest in economic, technical, and legal issues, as well as the motivation to develop sustainable solutions for the built environment. Here's what you'll learn during your studies

  • Sustainable Real Estate Development
    : You will learn to develop real estate projects sustainably and manage them economically throughout their entire life cycle. You will focus on project development, revitalization, real estate marketing, and hybrid use concepts.
     
  • Sustainability and Climate Protection
    During your studies, you’ll explore CO₂ neutrality, the Green Deal, sustainable energy management, and future-proof building materials and construction methods. This will enable you to implement sustainable strategies in the real estate industry.
     
  • Digitalization in Real Estate Management
    You’ll work with digital methods such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and learn how to apply them to the planning, development, and management of real estate.
     
  • Real Estate Economics, Law, and Finance
    You’ll deepen your knowledge in the areas of real estate law, real estate valuation, financing, controlling, and portfolio and asset management, and develop a solid understanding of economic relationships within the real estate industry.
     
  • Future-Oriented Project and Stakeholder Management
    You will explore futures studies, social change, communication, and agile project management, and learn how to successfully implement real estate projects in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Sustainability, digitalization, and new legal requirements are fundamentally transforming the real estate industry. There is a demand for professionals who can integrate economic, technical, and legal aspects and develop and oversee real estate projects sustainably throughout their entire lifecycle. With your master’s degree, you’ll qualify for challenging specialized and leadership roles in the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Here are the tasks you can expect in your day-to-day work

Depending on the industry and company, you will develop, plan, and oversee sustainable real estate and infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities may include, for example:

  • Developing and implementing
    real estate projects: You’ll plan new real estate projects, oversee their development from the initial concept through to implementation, and coordinate economic, technical, and legal requirements.
     
  • Implementing
    sustainability strategies: You’ll develop concepts for energy-efficient buildings, implement ESG requirements, and evaluate real estate properties in terms of sustainability, carbon neutrality, and long-term economic viability.
     
  • Managing
    real estate economically: You’ll analyze investments, evaluate properties, plan financing, and support companies with asset and portfolio management.
     
  • Contributing
    to Infrastructure and Mobility You will develop sustainable infrastructure and mobility concepts and integrate them into modern real estate and urban development projects.

    Estate Development As a real estate developer, you oversee real estate projects from site analysis through planning to completion. Real estate developers create sustainable usage concepts and coordinate economic, technical, and legal requirements.

    As a real estate developer, you coordinate construction projects, manage planning and construction processes, and align economic, legal, and technical requirements.
     
  • Infrastructure and Urban
    Development In infrastructure project development or urban and regional planning, you design sustainable living spaces and work on mobility and infrastructure concepts.
     
  • Asset and Facility Management
    In asset management, you evaluate and manage real estate portfolios and develop strategies for preserving their long-term value. In facility management, you are responsible for the cost-effective and sustainable operation of real estate properties throughout their entire life cycle.
     
  • Banking, Insurance, and Investment
    You will appraise real estate, analyze investments, and support financing or real estate portfolios.
