No specific prior technical knowledge is required for the Bachelor’s in SE – Green Electronics. With a high school diploma, you can apply regardless of the type of high school you attended. What’s important is an interest in technology and the natural sciences, as well as a willingness to engage intensively with the course material.

To help you prepare for your studies, CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences offers CU Add-Ons in mathematics, computer science, and physics before the program begins. Even without a Matura, you can still enroll if you have a relevant professional qualification and complete the preparatory course.
Here's what you'll learn during your studies
During your studies, you will gain a fundamental understanding of engineering. You will learn to approach electronic problems from different perspectives and apply your knowledge to a variety of technical challenges.
Analyzing and Designing
Electronic Systems Using models and simulations, you’ll examine the behavior of electronic systems. You’ll work with analog and digital circuits and apply the fundamentals of signal processing and control engineering.
Developing and Refining
Circuits You will design and analyze electronic circuits, apply your knowledge of semiconductor physics, and explore fundamental methods of printed circuit board design.
Applying
Technical Knowledge in Practice You will apply your knowledge of sensor technology and embedded systems to specific tasks and further develop electronic systems in a targeted manner.
What opportunities will you have after you graduate?
With your bachelor’s degree in SE – Green Electronics, you can pursue a master’s degree in Engineering & IT at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences or at another university of applied sciences or university.
The four-semester master’s program in Systems Design at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences offers a direct path to further specialization. There, you’ll focus on the design and implementation of complex technical systems—ranging from embedded systems and electronics to mechatronics and control engineering. This will allow you to deepen your skills in analyzing and solving challenging technical problems and in the targeted further development of systems.
Here's how the program is structured
The program lasts six semesters and is worth 180 ECTS credits. You can complete the German-language program on a full-time or part-time basis at the Villach campus. Starting in fall 2026, a full-time English-language option will also be offered.
In the part-time program, classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 4:50 p.m., on Fridays starting at 4:00 p.m., and all day on Saturdays.

Can I study Green Electronics while working?
