How does the application process work?

You apply online through the CU University of Carinthia application portal. After you submit your application materials, we will invite you to an admissions interview. During this interview, we’d like to get to know you and learn more about your motivation, your interests, and your expectations for the program. There is no written or oral entrance exam for any specific subject.

Can I complete the degree program while working?

Yes. The program combines in-person and online instruction and is designed to allow students to balance their studies, work, and personal life in the best possible way.

What kind of coursework can I expect during my studies?

The program combines the fundamentals of business administration and economics with public administration, political science, and law. This academic training is supplemented by content from the fields of communication and social sciences, as well as instruction in research methods. 

Can I specialize during my studies?

Faculty members from universities, government agencies, public-sector companies, and nonprofit organizations bring their real-world experience directly into the classroom. The program is supplemented by case studies, projects, guest lectures, and field trips.

What field trips are included in the program?

Field trips are organized to Vienna, for example. They provide insights into current developments and foster dialogue with experts from government, politics, and nonprofit organizations.

Is attendance required for the courses?

Yes, an 80% attendance requirement applies to all courses. Absences due to illness or to care for close family members (caregiving leave) are considered excused upon presentation of appropriate documentation. 

What tuition and additional costs are involved?

You will be required to pay the tuition fee stipulated by law as well as the ÖH membership fee. Additional costs may apply for field trips. You can find the currently applicable fees under “Important Information About the Application.”
