For which professional groups is this degree program suitable?

The program is designed for healthcare professionals who hold a valid professional license. These include, in particular, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, midwives, clinical psychologists, physicians, and sports scientists with additional qualifications in exercise therapy.

Is it possible to study while working?

Yes, the program is specifically designed for working professionals and is easy to plan around thanks to the combination of online instruction and intensive on-campus sessions.

Since the program is designed to be pursued while working, you’ll need to set aside several days of vacation per semester for the on-campus sessions. The exact number depends on your individual work situation. However, thanks to the long-term scheduling, you can plan for the necessary vacation days well in advance.

How much time should I set aside for my studies?

The program lasts 4 semesters and comprises a total of 120 ECTS credits.

How many days of in-person instruction are included in the program?

Each semester includes two in-person sessions lasting several days each, one at the beginning and one at the end of the semester, each lasting about five days. In addition, there is another short in-person session of about 3.5 days in the middle of the semester. All in-person session dates are set well in advance for the entire program and can therefore be planned for the long term.

How is the program structured between the in-person sessions?

Live online courses are held regularly between the in-person sessions—usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. In addition, time is set aside for self-directed learning. In the fourth semester, the course load is reduced as the focus shifts to the master’s thesis.

Do I need any prior technical knowledge or programming skills?

No. The program teaches students how to apply telemedicine and digital health solutions. Programming skills or a technical degree are not required.

What is the goal of the program?

In the Master’s program in Applied Telemedicine, you will learn to implement, evaluate, and sustainably integrate telemedicine solutions into practice based on evidence.

You’ll develop the ability to digitally optimize workflows in healthcare, help shape new patient-centered models of care, and safely integrate telemedicine applications into both profession-specific and interprofessional settings.

Upon graduation, you will possess specialized expertise in the field of applied telemedicine and will be able to actively contribute to the further development of digital health solutions.

Yes, telemedicine is permitted—subject to certain professional requirements and within the framework of the applicable professional regulations.

What technical requirements do I need?

The necessary software solutions and digital tools will be available to you for the duration of your studies; you may also use your own systems.

How much does it cost to attend university?

Tuition is €363.36 per semester, plus the ÖH fee.
