Shaping Internationalization

Christine Pichler, Professor of Sociology at DDS, DDS/DDD degree programs, and member of the IARA leadership team

“Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) give students and teaching staff the opportunity to experience international exchange and build networks. This form of mobility, combining a virtual component with a short physical one, is an excellent way to help shape internationalization, especially for students in part-time degree programs and those who are unable to spend a traditional semester or internship abroad. Transnational and often interdisciplinary exchange focused on a particular topic fosters academic development. Alongside the subject-specific perspective, the personal learning experiences also enrich everyone involved—students, teaching staff, and higher education institutions alike.”
