What is business psychology?
Business psychology combines economic concepts with psychological insights. You’ll explore how people think, make decisions, and act within companies, as customers, and in markets.
Is business psychology a degree in psychology?
No. Business Psychology is a major within the Bachelor's program in Business. You'll receive a solid education in business and learn to apply psychological insights to business issues.
What kind of course content can I expect during my studies?
Among other topics, you’ll study business administration, management, the fundamentals of psychology, human resources and organization, marketing, consumer behavior, behavioral economics, as well as research methods and data analysis. The program focuses on three key areas: the world of work, customers, and markets.
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No. No prior knowledge of economics, psychology, or statistics is required. You'll learn the necessary fundamentals during the program. However, you should be willing to work with numbers, data, and scientific methods.
Is it possible to pursue this degree while working?
The program is offered on a full-time basis. Classes are held primarily Monday through Friday and, in some cases, on Saturdays as well. Therefore, holding a job is only possible if the schedule is flexible enough to accommodate the program.
How long does the program last, and what degree will I receive?
The program lasts 6 semesters and comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits. Upon successful completion, you will receive the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts in Business (BA).
Is the program practical?
Yes. Practical projects, case studies, and real-world business challenges link theoretical concepts to concrete professional applications. In addition, you’ll gain practical experience during your professional internship and have the opportunity to apply your knowledge directly.
Can I complete part of my degree program abroad?
Yes. You can spend a semester abroad or complete your professional internship abroad. This will allow you to gain international experience and expand your language and intercultural skills.
What career opportunities does this degree program offer?
After graduation, you can work in areas such as human resources management, human resources development, marketing, market research, organizational development, or change management. Other fields of work include People & Culture, Consumer Insights, Market Intelligence, consulting, and project management.
What requirements do I need to meet?
You must have a general university entrance qualification, a vocational matriculation examination, or an appropriate college entrance examination. A relevant vocational qualification, combined with the appropriate supplementary examinations, may also qualify you for admission.
How much does the program cost, and how can I apply?
Tuition is €363.36 per semester, plus the ÖH fee. Applications are submitted online via the CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences website. After your documents have been reviewed, you will go through an admissions process that includes a personal interview.
