More Than Just a Student ID Number
Martin Reicher, Business Psychology Student
For me, it’s especially the human and personal touch at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences that makes all the difference. Despite its professional focus, the university never loses sight of the fact that behind every student is an individual with their own needs. I’d also like to highlight the flexibility in scheduling, which allows me to balance my studies well with my professional work.
Why did you decide to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Psychology at the School of Management / the Faculty of Economics & Management at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Villach?
I was certain I wanted to pursue a degree in business, but I quickly realized that “traditional” business programs often lack a human touch. This is exactly where business psychology comes in–a combination that immediately captivated me. I was also particularly impressed by the future-oriented and practical approach of CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. For me, it was important not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to gain concrete insights into how it can be applied in real-world situations.
What has been a particularly positive experience for you during your studies at the School of Management / the Faculty of Economics & Management at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Villach?
I really appreciate the personalized guidance and the easy communication with the faculty. At CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, you’re not just a student ID number–you’re treated as a person. The hands-on assignments and project work help me not only to understand the material but also to apply it specifically in real-world contexts.
What interests you most, or what do you particularly like about the Bachelor’s program in Business Psychology at the School of Management / the Faculty of Economics & Management at CU University of Carinthia in Villach?
I especially appreciate how clearly the transition from theory to professional practice is achieved. The versatility of the program has surprised me–it ranges from the fundamentals of business administration to the psychology of perception. I find it particularly exciting how the program gives me new perspectives on topics that I previously knew only from a one-sided viewpoint.
What further educational or career path are you aiming for after completing your bachelor’s degree in Business Psychology?
My goal is to gain a foothold in sales or regional management–a field where I can specifically combine my psychological knowledge with business management skills. However, given the breadth of my education, I can also very well imagine working in the area of human resources development or employer branding. I also don’t rule out pursuing a part-time master’s program in the future.
Do you have any tips or advice for students who are just starting their bachelor’s degree?
My most important tip: Stay open–to new ideas, new perspectives, and new opportunities. The world of business isn’t just about facts and figures–it’s also about people. And that’s exactly what makes business psychology so fascinating. And if things get challenging at times: don’t let it discourage you! It’s precisely through difficult tasks that you grow both personally and professionally.
