BSc in Mechanical Engineering - Bachelor's Degree Program
In the Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll develop products and machines–from the initial idea through design to a fully functional prototype. You’ll work with CAD software, 3D printing, modern manufacturing technologies, and test benches, and you’ll apply your knowledge in practical settings–such as labs and corporate projects–even while you’re still a student.
The program combines traditional engineering with digitalization and sustainable production. You’ll study topics such as design, materials science, automation, and simulation, and later have the opportunity to specialize in manufacturing engineering, power engineering, or technical design.
After graduation, you can work as a development engineer, design engineer, or manufacturing engineer–for example, in mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry, energy and environmental engineering, or aerospace. Alternatively, you can pursue a master’s degree.
Is mechanical engineering the right fit for you?
If you want to understand technology, develop innovative solutions, and play an active role in designing machines, a degree in mechanical engineering provides the ideal foundation. You’ll combine technical thinking with creativity and learn how to bring ideas to life–from design through to implementation.
Here's how flexible your mechanical engineering studies can be
You decide how you want to study: full-time or part-time. Both options combine hands-on learning, state-of-the-art laboratories, development projects, and a required internship with a solid technical education.
What are your career prospects?
With your bachelor’s degree, a wide range of career paths will be open to you–from design and product development to manufacturing and energy engineering, and on to research and development. At the same time, you’ll lay the ideal foundation for pursuing a master’s degree.
Ready to drive technological progress?
Starting in your first semester, you’ll work on ideas that will be needed tomorrow.
Special features of the program
Austria's only part-time bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering
You decide how you want to study: full-time or part-time. The part-time program combines online instruction with intensive on-campus sessions, allowing you to flexibly balance your studies, career, and personal life.
Practical from the very beginning
From the very beginning, you’ll work on real-world projects and practical assignments—either in collaboration with companies or directly within your own professional field. This allows you to apply your knowledge immediately and gain valuable practical experience even while you’re still in school.
Modern Technologies for the Industry of Tomorrow
You'll work with modern design, simulation, and manufacturing technologies, as well as AR and VR applications. This way, you'll gain practical experience during your studies with technologies that will be used in the industry of tomorrow.
Three areas of specialization—your personalized focus
Starting in the third semester, you’ll specialize in manufacturing engineering, energy mechanical engineering, or technical design. This allows you to tailor your studies to your interests and career goals.
