What should you bring to the program?

The Master’s degree program in Advanced Nursing Practice in Primary Care is designed for licensed nurses who wish to deepen their professional expertise and actively shape the future of health care. Admission requirements include a bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent degree, as well as a diploma in nursing.

In the Master’s degree program in Advanced Nursing Practice in Primary Care, you will deepen your nursing science and clinical competencies and develop into an expert in modern, evidence-based primary care. Among other topics, you’ll explore community health nursing, public health, case and care management, e-health, and leadership in primary care.

There is a particular emphasis on integrating scientific knowledge with professional practice. Through case- and project-based learning, simulation training, and applied research, you will develop solutions for complex care situations and learn to provide professional support to individuals and families. At the same time, you will strengthen your skills in multiprofessional collaboration as well as in the coordination and advancement of care processes.

What's next after the master's degree?

Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to take on challenging roles as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in primary care and open up a wide range of career opportunities in the healthcare sector. At the same time, you will meet the requirements for pursuing a doctoral degree in accordance with § 6 of the University of Applied Sciences Act (FHStG).

Depending on your professional focus, you can work, for example, in primary care units, group practices, municipalities, administrative agencies, or in discharge management. You may also pursue a career as a freelance nursing expert or in research and teaching.
