Current Trends in Wood Construction - MC
With the “Current Trends in Wood Construction” Micro Credential, you’ll gain hands-on experience with contemporary developments in wood construction. The program focuses on wood as a material, circular construction, demolition planning and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The three-day seminar combines expert input with group work and hands-on workshops. Working in interdisciplinary teams, you’ll collaborate with architects, civil engineers and tradespeople - particularly carpenters - on current issues in timber construction. This will expose you to different professional perspectives and help you develop a more comprehensive understanding of the planning and implementation of timber construction projects.
Discussions with experts offer you additional insights into current approaches and challenges in the practice of timber construction. A concluding field trip rounds out the program and allows you to delve deeper into the topics covered outside the seminar room.
This short academic program is offered in cooperation with “überholz,” the course on timber construction culture at the University of Art and Design Linz and was further developed as part of the Interreg project “LifeLongWood.”
Upon completion, you will have in-depth insights into current trends in timber construction. You will be able to contextualize key aspects of circular construction and constructive demolition and understand the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration for timber construction projects.
Make timber construction circular and sustainable.
Deepen your knowledge of timber construction, circularity and deconstruction in the MC Current Trends in Wood Construction.
