Sex and Law:
Legal Certainty for Sexuality Education Professionals - MC

With the Micro Credential “Sex and Law: Legal Certainty for Sexuality Education Professionals,” you’ll gain practical knowledge about the legal framework governing sex education and sexual education. This short academic program is designed for professionals who wish to address the topic of sexuality in their educational, social work, or counseling practice.
You will explore the rights of those affected and the obligations of professionals and institutions. These include rights to education, information and consent, as well as legal issues related to sexual and reproductive self-determination.
Another key focus is on criminal offenses against sexual integrity and self-determination. You will examine supervisory duties and potential breaches of duty, reporting obligations and rights to report, as well as confidentiality and disclosure obligations. Protective measures for victims and perpetrators, as well as potential criminal and professional disciplinary consequences for institutions, will also be covered.
In addition, you will learn about legal requirements regarding the distribution and storage of sexuality-related content. You will gain an overview of data protection, relevant professional regulations and selected areas of the Equal Treatment Act. Current phenomena such as sexting, grooming and sextortion are analyzed using theoretical foundations and practical case studies.
Upon completion, you will be better able to assess legal issues in the context of sex education, recognize professional obligations and act with greater legal certainty in sensitive situations.
Combine sex education with legal clarity.
Expand your knowledge of self-determination, supervisory duties and data protection in the MC Sex and Law.
