From Career Changer to App Developer

Christina Konlechner demonstrates that it’s possible to successfully transition into a technical degree program even without a background in the field. With no prior programming experience, she began her studies at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and gradually developed into a software developer. In particular, the intensive mentoring, small study groups, and numerous project assignments helped her quickly put her knowledge into practice.

After earning her bachelor’s degree, she went on to complete a master’s in Communication Engineering. As part of her master’s project, she and her team developed an innovative tracking solution for sporting events–including an Android app, a website, and a server backend. The application was successfully tested during her participation in the Ironman in Hawaii.

Today, as an Android app developer at Parkside, she develops mobile applications for international clients and works daily with modern technologies to create innovative software solutions.
