From College to Their Own Architecture Firm

DI Barbara Abel & DI Christoph Abel, Architect and Managing Director | ABEL und ABEL Architektur ZT GmbH

For Barbara and Christoph Abel, studying architecture at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences laid the foundation for their shared professional future. Even while still students, they worked independently on a wide variety of projects and developed a desire to start their own architecture firm.

Shortly after graduating, they took this step and founded their first architectural firm. Today, they jointly manage ABEL und ABEL Architektur ZT GmbH and carry out projects in the fields of architecture and built environment–ranging from residential buildings and commercial projects to public spaces.

Looking back, they both agree: the hands-on training, the freedom to develop their own ideas, and the entrepreneurial mindset fostered during their studies prepared them perfectly for self-employment.
