From HTL Graduate to IT Systems Engineer at a Hospital

Dipl.-Ing. Michael Allmayer, BSc, IT Systems Engineer, KABEG

After completing his technical training at HTL Mössingerstraße, Michael Allmayer made a conscious decision to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. The combination of engineering, computer science, and medicine convinced him that this was a forward-looking career path. He then deepened his knowledge by pursuing a master’s degree in Health Care IT.

Even during his professional internship at KABEG, he gained valuable hands-on experience and contributed to the “LKH neu” project. After starting out in the automation and robotics industry, his enthusiasm for medical technology led him back to the healthcare sector. Today, as an IT systems engineer, he is responsible for implementing medical IT systems, project management, and the digitization of clinical processes.

He particularly remembers the hands-on training he received at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences: Much of what he learned–from project and process management to programming and image processing–continues to guide him in his daily work. His conclusion: The program not only imparts technical expertise but also provides optimal preparation for the demands of the professional world.
