Outstanding Research for a Climate-Neutral Future
A major success for research at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences: Our colleague Dr. Emmanuel Oluwasogo has been honored with the prestigious Zero Emissions Award from the FWF’s alpha+ Foundation.
His research project will receive funding of 381,155 euros, making it one of the most outstanding climate-related basic research projects in Austria.
The project focuses on developing innovative converter technologies for smart power grids. Using the novel concept of “topological morphing,” the goal is to integrate renewable energy sources–such as solar and wind power–as well as charging infrastructure for electric vehicles into existing power grids even more efficiently, flexibly, and reliably in the future.
The goal of the research is to develop high-performance and adaptable converter architectures capable of dynamically handling varying voltage requirements. In this way, the project makes an important contribution to sustainable electrification and global decarbonization.
“My goal is to develop novel converter architectures that seamlessly integrate renewable energy sources while ensuring high performance across a wide range of operating conditions,” explains Emmanuel Oluwasogo.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations on this significant award and are delighted that research is being conducted at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences that develops concrete solutions for tomorrow’s energy transition.
Congratulations, Emmanuel!
