What do I need to start the Master IEM program?

Formal Admission Requirements
A completed bachelor’s or diploma degree in a technical field. A degree program that corresponds to the subject matter of the master’s program, or an equivalent degree from a recognized domestic or foreign postsecondary educational institution, is accepted.

Application During the Final Bachelor’s Semester
Students in the final semester of their bachelor’s program may apply with a current transcript. The bachelor’s degree certificate must be submitted upon enrollment at the start of the semester.

Admissions Process 
The program has a limited number of spots.

Language Proficiency
German at a minimum B2 level, as the language of instruction is German. A good command of English is expected, as some courses and specialized literature are in English.

What can you do after you graduate?

Upon completion of the master's program, you will be able to:

  • analyze business problems holistically and solve them as part of a team, taking both technical and economic aspects into account
  • understand, initiate, and support innovation processes
  • Comprehensively evaluate manufacturing processes—based on technical and economic parameters—and create technology roadmaps
  • Design basic concepts for production machines and production systems based on various requirements
  • contribute to the implementation of control and regulation systems in mechanical equipment
  • Develop business models and business plans
  • Develop projects and prepare project proposals
  • Apply the essential methods of statics and strength of materials, kinematics and kinetics, design and materials science, as well as electrical engineering
