International Experience as a Stepping Stone for the Tourism Industry

Christina Moser, MA, eCommerce Project & Performance Marketing Manager, INCERT eTourism

Christina Moser developed a passion for marketing, tourism, and travel at an early age. After graduating from HLW Hermagor with a focus on cultural tourism and project management, she spent two years in the U.S. It was there that she solidified her decision to pursue a career in tourism. “During that time, I decided that my path should remain in tourism. So the decision to study hotel management was very easy,” she explains.

During her studies, Christina gained valuable hands-on experience at various tourism businesses and learned about different work methods as well as how to interact professionally with guests. Her internship in the luxury hotel industry in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was particularly formative. In addition, she worked for several semesters in the university’s International Relations Office and made connections with students from all over the world. Another highlight was her semester abroad at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa. “My various experiences abroad have shaped me into the person I am today. I enjoy traveling the world and getting to know new cultures.”

After completing her bachelor’s degree at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Christina earned a master’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Today, she works as an e-commerce Project & Performance Marketing Manager at INCERT eTourismus. Together with renowned clients from the hospitality and leisure industries, she develops and oversees customer loyalty programs, online campaigns, and e-commerce projects.

She has some clear advice for prospective students: “Definitely keep going and don’t bury your head in the sand! A college degree offers so many great opportunities, and you never know where it might lead you or what connections you’ll make along the way.”
