What You Should Bring

This master’s program is designed for graduates of technical bachelor’s programs who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field of power electronics. An interest in electrical engineering, mathematical and technical problems, and analytical thinking provides a solid foundation for the program. Since all courses are taught in English, you should also have a good command of the English language.

Here's what you'll learn in college

During your studies, you’ll focus on the development of modern power electronics systems—from the physical fundamentals of electronic components to the design of intelligent power supply systems. You’ll deepen your expertise in the areas of power semiconductors, circuit and system design, modeling and simulation, measurement and sensor technology, and control engineering.

In addition, you’ll explore industrial applications, electromagnetic compatibility, smart power electronics, and e-mobility. Lab exercises, project work, and your master’s thesis will allow you to apply your knowledge to specific technical problems.

Curriculum

The four-semester master’s program comprises 120 ECTS credits and combines theoretical foundations with lab exercises, project work, and scientific research. During the first three semesters, you will deepen your subject-specific expertise before completing the program with your master’s thesis and the master’s examination.

Further Studies

With a master’s degree in Industrial Power Electronics, you will have a scientifically sound education that qualifies you for challenging roles in industry and research. In addition, this degree opens the door for you to pursue doctoral studies in accordance with Section 6(4) of the University of Applied Sciences Act (FHStG) at a university in Austria or abroad.
