HTL
Quality Partnership: Enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd Semester
HTL graduates can shorten their Construction, Architecture, and Real Estate degree program by up to one year if they meet the admission requirements and pass selected placement exams before the start of the program.
After successfully completing the Matura and passing the admissions process at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, students may enter the 3rd semester upon successfully passing the entrance exams.
Admission requirements include a grade point average of 2 or higher in the last two annual report cards (4th and 5th grades) as well as a letter of recommendation from the respective HTL.
Admission Requirements – Engineering & IT – for the individual bachelor’s degree programs:
Please submit your application materials for a bachelor’s degree program at the Faculty of “Construction, Architecture & Real Estate”—ideally ONLINE—and include your 4th- and 5th-grade report cards. After reviewing your documents, we will contact you if individual courses or semesters can be credited toward your degree. You will then receive the necessary information about the Moodle preparatory courses, which are offered free of charge starting in June, and we will arrange tutorials with the respective instructors.
Entrance exams are offered at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences during the first and second weeks of July and September. Starting in June, we offer free preparatory courses for these entrance exams on Moodle. We will register participants for the appropriate preparatory courses; all course materials are included in the free package:
- Tutorials with the instructors
- Sample exercises with sample exams
- A discussion forum where questions can be asked online
- 1–2 preparatory sessions held at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences to clarify questions about the course content
The required entrance exams must be passed before the start of the program.
Students who enroll in the first or second semester despite having prior knowledge are invited to work alongside the course instructors as coaches for students with no prior technical knowledge. Upon request, the course can be credited or graded as “successfully completed.”
Enrollment in the second semester following basic military service, as well as individual course credit transfers, are possible for all bachelor’s degree programs at the Faculty of “Construction, Architecture & Real Estate.”
CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences offers graduates of relevant technical HTLs throughout Austria the opportunity to enter any bachelor’s degree program at the Faculty of “Construction, Architecture & Real Estate” in the summer semester or to have individual courses recognized for credit. This is possible, for example, after completing basic military service.
Prospective students who meet the necessary subject-specific admission requirements do not need to take any additional exams. Lateral entry is also available to students who wish to transfer to CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences from another institution of higher education.
